Please choose the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice times that best fit your schedule. Please know that it is first come-first serve, so sign up right away!

Math: Your children are learning many things in each of their math classes. Some basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division can be incorporated (used) all around your house.

*Ask your child to set the table, telling them there are 4 people and you need a fork and knife per person.

Problem: How much of each piece of silverware will you need? 4x2= Forks (4x1) + Knives (4x1) = 4+4, 8 total pieces of silverware.

*Mom wants her car washed and she will pay $5.00 for the job. You and your sister will wash it together.

Problem:  How much will each of you make?
$5.00 / 2= $2.50 each.
Grocery shopping is an excellent way to use math with the family. Place 5 items per child in the cart. Then ask each child to look at the prices and estimate (using rounding rules) the total price of their 5 items. (Note: Bring your calculator so you can easily check their answers unless you are very good at quick mental math).
