PTA Minutes
 

The meeting was called to order by Erin Thomas at 4:15 p.m.

President’s Report 

  • One request was received but it will be referred to the administration as it is for staff development.
  • We will hold our next General Meeting on February 1st at the start of Reading Night to have budget approved.

VP Report

  • Ann presented information for a new fundraiser using a company that was used prior to Sally Foster.  One drawback is that they do not provide staff for counting the money, etc.
  • PTA has been requested to provide breakfast for the staff meeting to be held on January 24th at 8:15 at which time the new principal will be announced.  Erin will go to Sam’s to purchase the items and Stacey will bring them in at 8 am, Ann will assist in getting it set up.

Treasurer’s Report    
A financial update was given.  A request was made to separate AR test funding the AR reward funding.  This will be done over the summer when a new budget is done.

Past Events Review    Chick Fil-A money from January 11th should go to PTA instead of Nurses’ Fund.  $240 was raised.

Upcoming Events

  1. FCAT Support-The letters from parents, mints, and pretzels will be done again. The letter that was sent home to parents so it can be changed for this year.
  2. Heart to Heart Dance-It will be on February 9th from 5:30-7:30.  The cost will be $5 per family.  A photographer will take photos for $10 per sheet.  PTA will assist.

Committee Reports

  1. Membership, Mandy-No new members to report.
  2. Beautification, Michelle - We are having trouble getting a call back from the artist who was going to paint inspirational words in the cafeteria. Michelle will get prices from another artist.  Landscaping was discussed again but due to the lack of irrigation, it was decided that no new landscaping would be done.
  3. Fundraising, Erin & Michelle - Box Tops -$88 earned

Special Events, Joanna & Mariel- Carnival/Auction/Family Fun Night will be held March 30th.
